The Arizona Department of Insurance now has a toll-free telephone number to make it easier for license applicants who live outside the Phoenix metropolitan area to contact the Insurance Licensing Hotline.
The number is 1-877-660-0964, and can be used from anywhere in Arizona outside the Phoenix area. Applicants in the Phoenix area can call the Licensing Hotline at 602-912-8470.
Arizona Insurance Director Charles R. Cohen said the toll-free number was installed as a service to individuals throughout the state who are considering becoming an insurance agent or who want to renew their license. “It is important to applicants, licensees and insurance consumers who rely on them that Arizona residents outside the Phoenix metropolitan area have quick and easy access to the licensing information they seek,” Cohen said.
The Hotline is in operation 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and provides recorded answers to frequently asked questions. During regular business hours (Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.), callers with unusual questions have the option of speaking with a member of the Licensing Section staff.
In addition, the Licensing Section’s redesigned Internet webpage at (http://www.state.az.us/id/licensing/licensing.htm) contains detailed information and licensing forms. The Insurance Department suggests that callers obtain as much information as possible from the website and recorded phone messages before deciding to speak with a staff member.
