BRIGHT HEALTH COMPANY OF ARIZONA WILL NOT OFFER INDIVIDUAL HEALTH PLANS IN 2023
Bright Health Company of Arizona (Bright Health) will not offer individual and family health insurance plans in 2023. Current Bright Health policies will remain in effect until December 31, 2022, as long as members pay their premiums. Bright Health issued a press release on October 11, 2022, with details regarding its decision.
Bright Health will soon notify its nearly 31,000 Arizona policyholders that they need to look for new health coverage in 2023 during the upcoming Open Enrollment, which starts on November 1st. Members will receive additional communications by logging into their healthcare.gov accounts. For current Bright Health policyholders, this means that, starting November 1st, anyone with a Bright Health individual health plan (meaning coverage not from an employer) will need to shop for a new plan from another insurance company for 2023.
Bright Health members can continue to use their health insurance benefits through the end of this year, but they must continue to pay premiums through the end of 2022 to maintain their coverage.
Bright Health members with questions about their coverage should contact member services at 855-827-4448. Members or health care providers can contact the Arizona Department of Insurance and Financial Institutions (DIFI) at 602-364-2499 or [email protected].
